On Wednesday, November 29, in Buenos Aires, Steve Solot, President of the Latin American Training Center-LATC, moderated the panel “The filming industry and technical training: the weak point of the audiovisual production chain,” part of the official program of Ventana Sur 2023.

Organized by the Spain Film Commission and the Latin American Training Center, the panel brought together industry experts, who discussed how to correct the deficit of skilled below-the-line labor and equipment to meet the enormous demand for audiovisual content production.

Panelists included Ignacio Rey, President, IberoAmerican Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA); Natacha Mora, Vice President, Spain Film Commission (SFC) and Coordinator, Canary Island Films; Marcio Migliorisi, Internationalization Coordinator, Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU); Marianna Vargas, General Director, Film Commissioner, Dirección General de Cine-DGCINE, Dominican Republic; and Marcelo Ortega, President, Film Andes, Mendoza Province.

Ventana Sur is the most important market for audiovisual content in Latin America, and it is a must in the schedule of distributors and buyers from the international industry. Organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Marché du Film – Cannes Film Festival, it brings together all the different players from the audiovisual industry to promote international co-production, financing and distribution of Latin American content.
