Latin American Screenplay Treatment Competition 2017

concurso 2016In order to stimulate screenwriting in Latin America countries, promote artistic creation, and help new writers in today’s highly competitive film and entertainment industry, the Latin American Training Center-LATC announces its Latin American Screenplay Treatment Competition 2017, with the support of CIBA, the Ibero American Regional Association of CILECT (the International Association of Film and Television Schools), and Final Draft, Screenwriting Software.

LATC will award the first place winner a cash prize of US$ 500 (five hundred dollars). In addition, the first and the second place winners will receive a gift certificate to download the latest version of Final Draft Screenwriting Software, as well as feedback on the screenplay treatment by the renowned Brazilian script doctor Doc Comparato.

The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in the final year of  CILECT member schools in Latin America:

Each school will designate a coordinator to receive the submitted treatments. The selection of the participants and their respective treatments will be based on criteria established by each participating school. Each school may submit a maximum of 3 participants. A Selection Committee comprised of 3 qualified members (1 from LATC and 2 from CIBA-CILECT schools) will evaluate the treatments according to a rank order system and criteria.

Participants will send their treatments to each school representative beginning  September 4th up to October 13th. The results will be announced at the Ventana Sur Film Market, in Buenos Aires, November 27-December 1, 2017 (date TBD).
