The winners of the eighth edition of the “Fazendo Meu Primeiro Filme” (“Making My First Film”) course were announced yesterday during the Mostra de Curtas (Short Film Showcase), which screened the films produced by the eight young participants of the class. The screening was followed by a closing ceremony and the official presentation of course completion certificates.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Cultural Council of the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association (ACRJ), the Latin American Training Center (LATC), and the Nós do Morro Group. The course was held on Mondays at the Casarão of Nós do Morro, in Vidigal, and taught by teacher Pedro Dannemann. It is part of a state project that promotes social inclusion through free audiovisual training. Selected students also received transportation and meal support.
Awarded Short Films:
- 1st place – Olhares, by Yara Luz dos Prazeres
- 2nd place – O Vento, by Samyra Paz
- 3rd place – Dois Cadernos Sem Volta, by Giulia Marinho da Silva and Kylder (Kleberson dos Santos Silva)
Awards:
- 1st place: Professional experience at an audiovisual production company in Rio de Janeiro, offered by a member company of SICAV (Interstate Union of the Audiovisual Industry).
- 2nd place: Full scholarship for a course at ABC Cursos de Cinema.
- 3rd place: Scholarship for the English course for audiovisual professionals offered by LATC.
The jury selecting the top three films included Bruna Sorrentino (Art Filme and ACRJ), Luciana Bezerra (Nós do Morro), David Meyer (Radiante Filmes), and Kate Lyra (LATC and Jury Coordinator).

Founded in 1986, Nós do Morro is a non-profit cultural association whose mission is to provide access to art, education, and culture for residents of Vidigal of all ages.
