The winners of the 8th edition of the course “Fazendo Meu Primeiro Filme – Introdução ao Mundo Audiovisual” (“Making My First Film – Introduction to the Audiovisual World”) were announced last Sunday during the showcase that presented the short films produced by the young participants using their cell phones. The screening was followed by a closing ceremony and the official presentation of the course completion certificates.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Cultural Council of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro (ACRJ), the Latin American Training Center – LATC, and the Municipal Institute of Culture of Petrópolis, with support from the Commercial and Business Association of Petrópolis (ACEP), the International Institute of Film, Art and Tourism, the production company Ooppah Artistic Solutions, and other public and private sector entities.

Taught by Professor Pedro Dannemann and locally coordinated by Ariel Barbosa from Culturarte, the course provided an introduction to the audiovisual world, encouraging young people to enter the professional film market. The program covered topics ranging from script development to image and sound editing, and classes were held at Sala Cine Humberto Mauro, in the Raul de Leoni Cultural Center.

  • Honorable Mention – Scholarship for LATC’s English for Audiovisual Professionals course.
