At the request of participating filmmakers, the Latin American Training Center has moved its Trade Mission for Iberoamerican Filmmakers from April to November, 2009, in order to overlap LATC activities with those of the American Film Market®.

From November 1st to November 6th, in Los Angeles, CA, Iberoamerican producers and other film industry participants will have the opportunity to experience an “immersion” into the commercial, legal, marketing, artistic, academic and new media aspects of the US audiovisual industry through an intensive schedule of meetings, presentations, seminars and other industry activities in Hollywood.  Producers with film projects will also have the opportunity to pitch their projects to US- based producers, agents and distributors.

Based in Rio de Janeiro, LATC (Latin American Training Center- an audiovisual consulting and training firm) is creating an exciting itinerary with its partners for the event, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers – NALIP – and the IFTA Foundation™, a supporting foundation of the Independent Film & Television Alliance® (IFTA®). IFTA® is the owner and producer of the American Film Market®. LATC’s Los Angeles event is a component of the “LATC Iberoamerican Film Export Promotion Program,” which is aimed at increasing the presence of independent Iberoamerican audiovisual content in the US market.

“This Program is open to up to 25 audiovisual content producers, screenwriters, directors and other industry personnel involved in filmmaking and based in Latin America, Spain and Portugal.  It is a unique opportunity for individuals with projects or those with a thirst to learn more about the audiovisual industry to sit face-to-face with US independent and Hispanic producers and decision makers and move their careers forward,” explains Steve Solot, LATC President.

The Trade Mission Program is also appropriate for executives, attorneys, journalists or others requiring a well-rounded knowledge of the worldwide entertainment industry.

Upon arrival in the US, participants will enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation. In addition to sessions with IFTA® and NALIP, visits to other well-known film industry entities such as the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Writers Guild of America (WGA), Directors Guild of America (DGA), Producers Guild of America (PGA), and the American Film Institute (AFI) are also on the agenda.  Participants will also be provided with an insider’s tour and access to selected events of the American Film Market (AFM), the premiere global marketplace for films.
