Steve Solot has received the title of Tourism Ambassador of the State of Rio de Janeiro at a ceremony held in downtown Rio de Janeiro.

The event took place within the scope of the Rio de Janeiro Tourism Ambassadors Program, coordinated by Portal Consultoria em Turismo, with the support of the Association of Tourism Ambassadors of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Created during the administration of former mayor Saturnino Braga, the program is coordinated by Bayard Do Coutto Boiteux, professor and tourism specialist.

The personalities selected for the role, recognized for their professional achievements and social influence, were chosen in 2025 by a jury chaired by Baroness Diana Macedo. The selection committee also included Eric Herrero, Célia Domingues, Matheus Oliveira, Zizi Magalhães, Aloysio Teixeira, and Bayard Boiteux himself.

In addition to Steve Solot, 17 other personalities were also honored, representing a wide diversity of highly relevant professionals from different sectors. Among those appointed are the Consul General of France in Rio, Eric Tallon; the President of the Theatro Municipal Foundation, Clara Paulino; the Municipal Secretary of Culture of Miguel Pereira, Júlio César de Souza; cultural producer Rose Oliveira, director of Grupo Ginga; the Director of the Museum of Image and Sound Foundation, Cesar Miranda Ribeiro; and the President of the City of Arts Foundation, Daniela Ribeiro.

With a solid track record in promoting Rio de Janeiro, Steve Solot has been involved in strategic initiatives to strengthen the state’s image and creative economy since his presidency of the Rio Film Commission, a joint program of the municipal and state governments. More recently, he expanded this work with the creation of the project “Fazendo Meu Primeiro Filme” (“Making My First Film”), developed in partnership with the Culture Council of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro (ACRJ). The project focuses on social inclusion and is aimed at communities and municipalities across the State of Rio de Janeiro, using audiovisual production as a tool for transformation.

In 2025, the project achieved significant impact, with six courses delivered and the production of 63 films, benefiting 85 students from more than 25 communities and municipalities. For 2026, eight additional courses are planned.
