On March 12, Steve Solot, president of the Latin American Training Center (LATC), delivered the masterclass “Cities on Screen – Strategies for Audiovisual Media to Boost Tourism” during the Audiovisual & Tourism Forum, part of the multi-event platform Turismall 2026, held in Rio de Janeiro.

As co-curator of the Audiovisual & Tourism track, alongside Sérgio Leitão, former Minister of Culture of Brazil, Solot presented strategies to transform Brazilian cities into true “living film sets,” capable of attracting visitors from around the world.

According to the international publication 4Filming, Solot’s presentation highlighted a central argument:

Films and series are more powerful tools for territorial promotion than traditional advertising. They reach global audiences, remain in people’s memories longer, and create emotional connections with destinations that no advertising campaign can replicate.”

Turismall 2026 brought together tourism professionals, airline executives, and industry representatives in a program dedicated to discussions on air connectivity, distribution of tourism products, and market strategies.

The event took place in Rio de Janeiro and included the participation of travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, and destination managers interested in discussing trends, innovation, and opportunities for the future of tourism in Brazil, including the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence applied to tourism.
