Aimed at professional producers of audiovisual content, the seminar offered insight into current opportunities and challenges in the commercial, financial and intellectual property areas, as well as highlighting important topics of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and their impact on the production and commercialization of audiovisual content.

According to Bertrand Mollier of FIAPF, “The Brazilian audiovisual industry is a world phenomena. It is an honor for FIAPF to collaborate for the first time in Brazil with professional organizations in the film and television sectors to offer this seminar as a means to highlight
unprecedented opportunities to exchage ideas on subjects of mutual interest to producers in Brasil and the rest of the world, such as co-production and the importance of robust authors rights legislation to stustain the growth of this strategic activity.”

The seminar was inaugurated by Silvia Rabello, President of the Rio de Janeiro Interstate Audiovisual Union – SICAV, the famous producer and industry icon, Sr. Luis Carlos Barreto, who previously served as Brazil’s representative to FIAPF, Bertrand Moullier, FIAPF international consultant, and Steve Solot, LATC President.

The seminar included two conference sessions and four round-table discussions moderated by important figures of the audiovisual market such as Bertrand Moullier, FIAPF international consultant, Paula Alves de Souza, Chief of Audiovisual Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Relations and Simone Lahorgue, partner of the Levy & Salomão Law Firm.

The Seminar speakers included Cláudio Lins de Vasconcelos, Director, Brazilian Intellectual Property Association – ABPI; Luis Antonio Silveira, Executive Producer, Conspiração Filmes and Secretary General of the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers – ABPITV; Vilma Lustosa, producer and partner of Total Entertainment and Vice-president of the Rio de Janeiro Interstate Producers Union – SICAV; Samuel Barichello, General Coordinator for Regulation of Author Rights of the Ministry of Culture; Juan Gordon, Spanish Film Producer; Attilio José Ventura Gorini, of the Dannemann, Siemsen, Bigler & Ipanema Moreira Law Firm; and Ana Paula Santana, Former Secretary of the Audiovisual Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture.
The seminar took place in the Hotel Othon Palace in Copacabana for approximately 70 professionals from the Brazilian audiovisual sector and various government officials.
